At Shore to Summit Outfitter, we highly recommend experiencing dispersed camping with one of our adventure-ready vehicles. Each Tacoma is equipped with a premium rooftop tent, giving you the freedom to embrace the idea that home is wherever you park it.
Dispersed camping allows you to set up outside of traditional campgrounds and enjoy a more private and immersive outdoor experience. Many public lands throughout the Mid-Atlantic permit dispersed camping when done responsibly and in accordance with local regulations.
We encourage guests to plan ahead and familiarize themselves with dispersed camping guidelines and land access rules.

Our rigs are built for adventure and capable of handling a wide range of terrain, giving you the freedom to explore throughout the United States.
To ensure the safety of our guests and the longevity of our vehicles, travel must remain on recognized roads and established trails. Technical rock crawling, OHV parks, and travel on unmapped or unmaintained routes are not permitted.
These guidelines help protect both our rigs and the environments we explore while ensuring a safe, responsible, and memorable adventure.
We recommend using a navigation app such as onX Offroad to download maps for offline use on your smartphone. This is especially helpful when traveling in remote areas where cell service may be limited. It’s the same tool we rely on ourselves whenever we’re out exploring the trails.
At Shore to Summit Outfitter, we love dogs as much as anyone. However, to maintain a clean and comfortable environment for every guest, pets are not permitted inside our rigs or rooftop tents.
If evidence of pets is found inside the vehicle or rooftop tent after a rental, a $350 detailing fee will be applied to restore the rig to its original condition for the next guest.
While our rigs are built for adventure, we ask that every guest treat the vehicle with care and respect as if it were their own.
Renters are responsible for:
• Selecting the correct fuel grade
• Protecting the vehicle from avoidable hazards
• Any tire damage including punctures, flats, or rim damage
• Windshield damage occurring during the rental
Vehicles should be returned in presentable condition. While full detailing is not required, a basic wash and interior vacuum are expected. If the vehicle is returned excessively dirty, a $350 detailing fee will apply.
Significant paint damage beyond normal wear may result in additional repair costs if detailing cannot restore the finish.
No. Smoking of any kind is strictly prohibited inside our vehicles and rooftop tents. If evidence of smoking or smoke odor is found, a $1,000 detailing fee will apply
